Chroma
In December of 2019, The Helson Gallery held an exhibition titled ‘Chroma’. It was an exhibition was about colour and featured a variety of artists, mediums, and interpretations/ examinations. I like colour. I like monochrome. And, I’m fascinated by how our mind and eyes’ work to interpret visuals.
I had an idea for how to present a group of images with the function of our eyes and minds as a foundation for the piece. It was an attempt to have viewers gain insight <ahem> into how the two work together to make sense of imagery
The exhibition was very fascinating. One item that stuck was the fact that as we age our preference for blues goes up. When asked what their favourite colour is, the preference for blue was highest amongst the elderly. I must have an old soul because blue has been one of my favourite colours since I was very young.
From the wall of the show:
It was a fun piece to put together and I’m proud of it’s being included in the exhibition.
